A Song sent by Sarah

I can't help but to post the lyrics of this song.
Truly, this is the way to gather peace in our lives...

----

I will praise you lord my god
Even in my brokenness I will praise you lord
I will praise you lord my god
Even in my desperation I will praise you lord
And I can’t understand all that you’ve allowed; just can’t
see the reason
But my life is in your hands, though I cannot see you, I
choose to trust you

Even when my heart is torn
I will praise you lord
Even when I feel deserted
I will praise you lord
Even in the darkest valley
I will praise you lord
And when my world is shattered
And it seems all hope is gone
Yet I will praise you lord

I will trust you lord my God
Even in my loneliness I will trust you lord
I will trust you lord my God
Even when I cannot hear you I will trust you lord
And I will not forget that you hung on a cross
Lord you bled and died for me
And if I have to suffer I know that you’ve been there
And I know that you are here now

Even when my heart is torn
I will trust you lord
Even when I feel deserted
I will trust you lord
Even in the darkest valley
I will trust you lord
And when my world is shattered
And it seems all hope is gone
Yet I will praise you lord

My Landlady and her Cult Klan

Current Music : Alanis Morissette - Hands Clean
Current Mood : Amused

Haha, i am DEFINITELY sure that my landlady is interested in newage occult. Not only i find books of "animals speaking" and her fascination with the Kabalarian philosophy (she changed her name believing she'll have more success), right now she's holding meetings where they place candles, play weird music, and hearing them ohming even with my doors closed.

It is quite a sight actually. It's almost like watching some youngsters playing the Ouija board. But these aren't youngsters. These are grown up women having too much time in their hands!

Oh, and now they are listening to some... recording of a "sermon". I believe it said " Breathe in.... breathe out..." And oh. Woozy music playing in the recording's background. It sounds like some advertisment for a getaway...

I know the last time when she had a party, they had a plant burnt!!! XD What's more, i saw some smouldering marks on their forearms. Was it some ritual?

If only they dont stare with me with suspicious eyes, i would sneaked up and take a video and post it online...

It has been SO LONG...

Current Music : T.M Revolution : Invoke

Ahhh i know, i know.
Anyway, i am now in Canada... :P Heh! Studying in Emily Carr. More updates on that in HERE. I'll link it here and there, but mostly this is my art site.. I WILL DO MY BEST! To update my art... Oh man it has been too long. Farrrrr too long.

Anyway as all of you can remember from my previous post, i WANTED to do a new layout picture. And yes, unfortunately it has never been done, but guess what! One of my assignment is again on webdesign.. isnt this a FINE OPPORTUNITY!? It is!

So ... i resumed coloring it... however i am now so mugged with my academics i hardly have the time to rest, let alone draw. Sometimes i really question the purpose of academics in an art school.

I've added some texture sort to the shadow shading. How does it feel? :D Does it look more authentic? I do hope so, i kind of like the texture there!

Anyway i'll post more. I'll do all i can!

It is DONE!

urrent Music : Analog Fish - Speed
Current Mood : Thankful

And it is done. The dreaded Sheridan portfolio requirements. AUGH! What a nightmare...

I have been extremely bad at this whole portfolio thing. Much procrastination, depression and laziness have interrupted me to keep a constant flow while doing it up. However, i thank God, (yes, mucho much credit to Him!) ultimately i'm able to do it up. I have to thank my friends and family members as well... Without them i could have be in deeeeep trouble. Hyuk!

Anyway, here's the loot.

1) 5 observational drawings
- 3 human figures, 2 animal drawings.

Augh. Animal drawing nearly killed me. It is such a shame, my foundation is really, nowhere as solid as the masters i see in the internet and in the market these days! After this exercise i really felt a tinge of regret back in my 1st year in Nanyang Polytechnic... I lacked of understanding just how important life drawing is. But it's not too late. I hope i can slowly start getting my basics all over again.

2) Design an original character
- turnarounds
- 2 action poses
- expression sheet (neutral, angry, happy, sad, surprised)

Random boy character design! I thought of him to be quite a little rascal... getting in all sorts of trouble. Prolly has courage measurable to a piece of cardboard. (XD XD XD) I like the idea of him wearing braces. Kind of gave him a little more interesting bits, what do you think?

3) 2 compostional sheets of household objects
- 1 freehand line drawing showing an accurate observation of these objects
- 1 freehand line drawing based on the 1st composition, now affected by an external force

XD This is a very interesting assignment. I wonder if the one i did was alright? @_@lll Heh i like the orange gib. Hehehehehe...

4) 2 freehand line drawings of a room in your house
- an accurate observation of the room with a person, drawn in scale, sitting, standing, or reclining in that space.
- same room, but from the person's perspective.

Haha! Yeah that's me in my room, infront of my drawing table! =D Such a messy table... @_@lll I do have problems with perspective... i... can't seem to understand some bits. How do i derive a 2nd vanishing point? Often i stumble across that and i have to use my instincts to gauge how things should be drawn. :( Augh, the misery.

5) 2 freehand line drawings of a human hand
- hand showing anticipation of an action
- hand carrying out the action

I took quite some time practising how to draw my hands. Again, these exercises reminded me just how.... weak my basics are. Really embarrassing. T_T

6) Storyboarding
- panel 1 : character finds a box and shows curiosity
- panel 2 : character is frustrated as the box proves difficult to open
- panel 3 : character is pleased when the box finally opens
- panel 4 : character is shocked/happy when the contents are revealed (according to your idea)

Haha.. a plushy looking crocodile at the end? XD I kind of like the crocodile! The character design was given. Very old fashiony dude.

And lastly, 5 pieces of my personal work that best shows my artisitic abilities. I'll add it in later.

And thus endth my entry. Well, i guess i did all i could. Just sit tight and see what happens. Please feel free to comment, yo!

A Gentle Breeze

Current Music : EIKO - Uchuu no Hana
Current Mood : Hyped

Another doodle before i do up my stuff. Just one of the witches ( design's not comfirmed yet! augh! ) caught in a spiraling wind of leaves.
While coloring this, i wished Singapore has Fall. It must be really soothing to see the rich earthy colors filling up the whole land, as red leaves scatter in the breeze... It must be some fantastic sight!

... pitter patter ...

Current Music : KOKIA - Jiyuu Na Hito
Current Mood : Sick

Due to weather changes and the supposed monsoon season, Singapore has been experiencing days of constant rain... In fact it could result days of raining, as though that's the default weather of Sinagpore! It has been pretty cold these days as well... Pretty unheard of when you're country's slapped near the Equator...

And while trying to do up the remaining required drawings, restless notions surfaced, and i can't help but to dish this picture quickly. Although i did want to use watercolor in this piece initially, but i finally settled with colored pencils. Quite a bad choice actually, the paper seems to be rather oily... pretty hard to rub colors on it. @_@;;;

At least now i know!

... no guessing where these 2 are from. Edward and Alphonse Elric from Full Metal Alchemist, possibly one of my favourite siblings in fiction. ^_^
